| IKEA |
 |
IKEA Kuwait was first established in Kuwait in 1984 by the Al Homaizi Brothers - Yacoub & Jasim Al Homaizi - who built upon their futuristic vision for the local home furnishing business segment. Having identified the market potential for products of exceptional quality at affordable prices that would cater to myriad requirements, the Al Homaizi brothers were determined to meet consumer expectations. Backed by over two decades of invaluable experience of having successfully franchised many prestigious European brands, they launched Kuwait’s first IKEA in Shuwaikh to offer the globally renowned Swedish home furnishings brand unique product range.
1991, which marked the year of liberation, turned out to be a remarkable achievement for IKEA and its holding company in Kuwait which left no stone unturned to revitalize and ensconce its local presence. Basing its business philosophy on principles that were oriented towards the greater common good for the wider community, IKEA Kuwait introduced the newly arrived IKEA 1991 collection at prices that were applicable in year 1990. This initiative received an overwhelming response and engendered a positive social opinion towards IKEA’s values.
Four years later, the will to build upon its initial success was realized across various business functions from product range and store features to look and shape as per international IKEA standards. A host of services and a series of major rebuilds were implemented within a timeframe of merely six months. The IKEA Kuwait store was thus re-launched on 11th November 1995 witnessing a footfall of over 18000 visitors on the day of opening.
Having secured an expanding base of loyal customers, IKEA Kuwait relocated to a new showroom in November 2006 at Kuwait’s most-frequented mall at Al Rai. The new store exemplified how a diverse product range can harmoniously synchronize with low prices – a unique and definitive offering which has been integral to IKEA’s international presence.

| Al-Yousifi |
 |
Easa Husain Al-Yousifi opened hs first small shop in Kuwait's old market in 1952 to sell household goods, and a quarter of a century later, his founding commitment to customer satisfaction would pave the way for sustained growth in the area of electronic appliances for Easa Husain Al-Yousifi & Sons Company.
Since then, the Company’s management and technological strengths have helped to gain a major share of every market it has entered including Panasonic in the State of Kuwait, which has the highest market share in the world for health, beauty care as well as household products. Together with other well-known brands such as Philco (USA), Ignis (Italy) and Delonghi (Italy), Easa Husain Al-Yousifi has managed to capture a combined 40% market share of consumer electronics in Kuwait. In addition, with more than 25% of the mini-split AC market share in Kuwait, the Company’s continued reputation for product quality and exceptional service remains unequalled-and the numbers speak for themselves.
Easa Husain Al-Yousifi & Sons Company is justly proud of its history and its brands, and its success is due, in part, to the economic transformation that took place in business ideas, services and products in the decades that followed the post-war period after Rorld War 2. In addition, Easa Husain Al-Yousifi & Sons Company is proud to say that it is still a local company at heart with diverse business interests that range from consumer electronics to professional services in information and communication technology, real estate, construction services, and travel. Yet the spirit of personal family-based service will always remain central: it is, in fact, the key to its outstanding success, which now includes the wider Gulf region of Saudi Arabia and Dubai.
